Buyer doesn't have a paypal account

I'm new to selling on ebay, just sold an item and I had paypal only for payments. The buyer has contacted me apologising saying he doesn't have a paypal account and 'could he send a cheque?'
I'm not sure if this is ok within eBay's rules. What should I do?

you can accept any kind of payment you like as long as you offer paypal.why not ask him to pay by bank transfer,much quicker than a cheque.
